Winter Fun for Toddlers

While it's very easy to send our older children out in the snow all bundled up with their sleds, skis, snowboards and toboggans, it takes a little more preparation to get your babies and toddlers ready for winter fun.  Check out my recently published article on Squidoo for a review of wooden toddler sleds - a great way to make sure your little one can enjoy snowy days with the family!

PLAN to Get Organized!

If one of your New Years Resolutions is to get organized, consider using a weekly, monthly or daily planner to help you plan your days, keep track of your goals and objectives and track your progress.  A 2013 Weekly Planner is a great first step in getting organized.

Planners are available in many different layouts and sizes and accommodate various lifestyles and needs.  They can be very plain and simple or beautifully designed.  Many also address environmental concerns by using post-consumer recycled content.  No matter which you choose, take the time to consider your needs and objectives using a planner and calendar.

Just remember this - "those who fail to plan, plan to fail." - Author Unknown

Polar Express Train Sets

"The Polar Express" is one of my daughter's favorite Christmas stories - both to read and watch the movie.  We typically watch the movie throughout the year, not just during the holiday season.  This year, she also asked for a train set for Christmas so when I found these Polar Express Train Sets, I thought it was the perfect combination.  Plus, the detail and design is beautiful!

Say Hello to Hello Kitty!

This year I picked up a Hello Kitty bedding set for my four year old daughter for Christmas - it was a Black Friday special so I was super proud of myself!  But as she has become more interested in Hello Kitty, it's started to come to my attention how much Hello Kitty merchandise is available and how it appeals to such a wide variety of people and age groups.  Girls ages 2 to 52 LOVE Hello Kitty!  Personally, I'm just happy to see this character theme make a come back and I'm even more excited that I have a four year old daughter who is into Hello Kitty right now!

Finding the Perfect Pack N Play

Choosing a play yard is a decision that almost every mom faces and many have to decide whether or not to even use one.  Personally, while I did struggle with the idea of confining my baby, ultimately, I decided it was best to have a place where I could safely place the baby and have available for nap times and road trips.  I decided on a basic model that was perfect for travelling and I recently posting a lens on the one I chose - the Graco Pack N Play with Bassinet.  Please feel free to check it out for more info!

My Favorite Kid's Tablet

So I may be slightly obsessed with LeapFrog.  This company makes some great educational toys for kids and babies.  Check out my lens on the LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer 2.  I was slightly skeptical of their products for a while due to the high level of independent play that they promoted.  I was convinced that the Tag reader was just a lazy parent's excuse to avoid reading to their children.  But after some more investigation, I realized that these products are perfect extensions to the learning that we do at home and allow my daughter to feel confident and excited about learning.  My daughter received the LeapPad 2 for her fourth birthday and loves it.

LEGOS!!!!!!!!!!

Often, I like to talk about some of my favorite toys for kids.  #1 - because I'm really a big kid myself and love to play and #2 because I believe that all pampered mommies should nurture and support their children's imagination.

I'm a huge fan of creative play and love toys that help promote and encourage this.  I recently posted a lens on Squidoo discussing the Ultimate LEGO Building Set,  toy that I recently purchased for both my daughter and my nephew.  I'm also a big fan of unisex toys and if anyone tells you that LEGO's are just for boys, I would strongly disagree.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my lens, please feel free to share.  And good luck out there in the crazy world of  toys!

Pamper Your Little One with WubbaNub

I recently posted a lens on Squidoo about WubbaNub - a company created by a mom that features adorable little products for babies.  The little plush toys feature a small lovie type animal conveniently attached to a pacifier - what more could a baby ask for?  And for the pampered mom - the ease of never again hunting for a tiny binky!

Welcome Pampered Mommies!

So you may have found my blog and be thinking to yourself, "hey, I'm not pampered at all!" or be wondering if I'm crazy putting the words "pampered" and "mommy" in the same phrase!  It's not often that we, as mothers, get a chance to pamper ourselves but this title inspires me in many ways.  First - I try to find the little moments of indulgence everyday, through a hot cup of cocoa, a warm bath or a few minutes snuggling on the couch with my two little ones.  Second - I love to find great new ways to pamper myself and I love to share what I find.  I hope to be able to share some real treasures here with you!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon!
